Kings Mountain, N.C. - With summer just around the corner for kids of all ages, the Gardner-Webb men's basketball program made a visit to East Elementary School in Kings Mountain, N.C. on Friday morning.
"What a great morning this was for our players at the East Elementary School!" stated Coach Holtmann. "I'm proud of our guys because they embraced the opportunity to read, encourage and put a smile on the faces of those great kids. We appreciate being asked to do this and being part of this special day at East Elementary."
Head Coach Chris Holtmann, along with members of both his staff and the basketball team, visited a number of classrooms at East Elementary on Friday morning, reading to a number of the classes, as well as spending time with the students in small groups.
The Gardner-Webb basketball players talked to the young students about how important education is for them not only now, but in the future, and the benefits of staying in school.
The Runnin' Bulldogs talked to the students about finishing the school year on a good note and even shared some of their fond memories and experiences during their years as elementary and middle school students.
