BOILING SPRINGS, NC- The Gardner-Webb women's soccer team is set to conclude its regular season this weekend as the team hits the road to face Coastal Carolina Thursday evening and Charleston Southern Saturday night.

The season thus far has been quite successful for the Lady Bulldogs, as they enter the weekend with an overall record of 11-7-0 and 5-2-0 in Big South Conference play.  The 11 victories are the most that the team has won since the 2001 season when the team went 15-6-1.

The last match for the Lady Bulldogs was a 1-0 victory over UNC Asheville this past Sunday afternoon at Greene-Harbison Field, in which head coach Kevin Mounce earned his 100th victory as Gardner-Webb's head coach.   Since taking the reins of the team in 1999, he has become the most successful women's soccer coach in the school's history.

Thursday night, the Lady Bulldogs will head to Conway, SC to take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.  Coastal Carolina enters the match with an overall record of 5-11-2 and 3-3-1 in Big South play following a 1-0 overtime loss to Charleston Southern this past Friday.  Currently leading the Chanticleers offensively is senior Dana Gentile, who has nine goals on the season.

Gardner-Webb's all-time record against Coastal Carolina is currently 1-3-0, with last season's match being a 3-0 victory for the Chanticleers.  Thursday's match is set to take place at 6:00 PM at Coastal Carolina Soccer Field and can be viewed on the Big South Network.

Saturday evening, the Lady Bulldogs will conclude the 2009 regular season as they visit the Charleston Southern Buccaneers.   Charleston Southern enters the week with a record of 12-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play, which ties the Buccaneers at the top of the Big South standings with Liberty.  Charleston Southern will face Winthrop on Thursday night before hosting the Lady Bulldogs on Saturday, with the Buccaneers last match being a 1-0 overtime victory over Coastal Carolina.  Leading the Buccaneers offensively is junior Marky Boyce with 12 goals and 7 assists.

The all-time record between the two programs stands at 2-2-1, with Gardner-Webb winning last season's match by a 2-0 score.  Saturday's match is set to take place at 7:00 PM at Blackbaud Stadium.

Following this week's action, the Lady Bulldogs will prepare for the 2009 Big South Women's Soccer Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting, which will be held in Charleston, S.C. at Blackbaud Stadium from Thursday, November 5th to Sunday, November 8th.
