Boiling Springs, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb football coaching staff deemed the team's first full scrimmage on Saturday morning a success, as both sides of the ball avoided major injuries and made plays throughout the contest.
"One goal, one vision, one team," stated head coach Ron Dickerson, Jr., to the team prior to the kick-off of the Saturday morning scrimmage.
And the Runnin' Bulldogs took that to heart, as both sides of the ball battled each other tooth and nail for close hours in the heat of August.
"Both team's played well," commented head coach Dickerson, Jr. after the scrimmage. "The offense drove down the field, scored and executed plays. The defense made stops and worked hard on all 11 men going after the ball."
The intense and full out scrimmage was wrapped up on a high note, as the team sang its rendition of "Happy Birthday" to head coach Dickerson, Jr. to wrap up the mornings festivities.
"We are a team, we're family," concluded coach Dickerson, Jr.
