BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb linebacker Tanner Burch and offensive guard Jamie Dunaway each earned third-team FCS All-America honors from College Sports Madness Saturday.

Burch (Savannah, Ga. / Savannah Christian Prep) was a first-team All-Big South selection in his first season as a starter, leading the league with 12.6 tacklers per game. The 6-foot-3, 242-pound sophomore registered 113 total tackles in just nine games played, reaching double figures in eight starts.

Against nationally-ranked teams, Burch averaged 14.0 tackles per game. He added 7.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

Dunaway (Lyman, S.C. / Byrnes HS) finished a stellar four-year career by starting a school-record 44 consecutive games on the offensive line and earning All-Big South honors for the third year in a row.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound senior graded out at 90 percent or better a team-high six times in 2012 and had 27 knockdown blocks at right guard.

Dunaway was whistled for only one penalty in 752 snaps and saw his lowest grade for the season come in at 87 percent.

A 2011 FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team selection, Dunaway is a candidate to earn a spot on that same national academic All-Star team again this season.

Dunaway was selected earlier this month to participate in the 2012 FCS Senior Scout Bowl in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
