CLEVELAND, Ohio - Gardner-Webb senior offensive lineman Jamie Dunaway was named to the 15th-annual Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team Thursday afternoon.

Dunaway (Lyman, S.C. / Byrnes HS) was one of 54 student-athletes from FCS schools selected for the team from a pool of 98 nominees. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound left guard earned a spot on the squad for the second season in a row.

A mathematics major, Dunaway forged a 3.52 cumulative grade point average and was also outstanding on the field. He set a Gardner-Webb record with 44 consecutive starts on the offensive line and earned All-Big South Conference honors at left guard in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He started all 11 games at left tackle as a true freshman in 2009 – helping GWU to a 6-5 mark overall that season.

Dunaway played a total of 1,476 snaps in his final two seasons with the Runnin' Bulldogs and was whistled for only two penalties during that span. In 2012, he graded out over 90 percent in six of his 11 starts, with his lowest blocking grade of the season a solid 87.0 percent.

He also played in the 2012 FCS Senior Scout Bowl in early December in Myrtle Beach, helping the South to a 20-17 win.

"The FCS ADA is pleased to honor the accomplishments of our football student-athletes each year with our Academic All-Star Team," said FCS ADA President Ron Strollo, director of athletics at Youngstown State University. "The accolades of these young men both in the classroom and on the field epitomize the definition of student-athlete and our Association looks forward to recognizing their accomplishments annually."

Each of the nominees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) and have been a starter or significant contributor with legitimate athletic credentials. Student-athletes must have completed at least one full academic year and reached his second season of athletics and academic standing at the nominating institution.
