SOMETHING HAS GOT TO GIVE
Something has got to give on Saturday afternoon, as either GWU or Asheville will win its first Big South Conference game of the year. One team will also snap a season-long losing streak with the victory as well.
The 2013 calendar year has been unlucky for the Runnin' Bulldogs, as GWU is winless thus far this year. GWU is 0-5 so far in '13 and are currently in the midst of a five-game losing streak, its longest of the season. Green, who has five double-doubles on the season, is averaging 10.7 points and 8.9 rebounds per contest.
GWU IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
GWU is ranked in the top-20 in the nation in a number of statistical categories including being ranked 13th overall in field goal percentage defense (33.4 percent) and 19th overall in three-point field goal percentage (19 percent).
GREEN SWATS #100 FOR HER CAREER; DUNOVANT DISHES #100
Junior center Catrina Green reached another career milestone on January 12th, as she recorded a career-high five blocks to give her 100 career swats during her time at GWU. Earlier this season, Green hauled down her 500th career rebound. In the same game, sophomore guard Mayhana Dunovant dished out six assists, one shy of her career-high, to give her 101 career assists in her two years at GWU.
DALE MAKES IT 10 IN A ROW
GWU guard Jasmine Dale has been raining three's all season long, as the junior has made a three-pointer in 16 of GWU's 17 contests this season. In fact, Dale has drained at least one three-pointer in each of the Runnin' Bulldogs' last 10 games and leads the Big South Conference with a three-point shooting percentage of 47.7 percent on the year.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Gardner-Webb will remain on the road for its next two contests, as the Runnin' Bulldogs will take on Presbyterian on Thursday, January 24th, at 7 p.m. in Clinton, S.C. and then head south to do battle with the Lady Buccaneers of Charleston Southern on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Charleston, S.C.
