SERIES VS. CAMPBELL
Gardner-Webb will hit the road to take on the Fighting Camels on Thursday night, February 14th, at 7 p.m. in Buies Creek, N.C. GWU is only 8-15 all-time versus the Fighting Camels and has dropped three straight contests to Campbell. GWU last beat the Fighting Camels in the first round of the Atlantic Sun Championship Tournament back in 2008-09.
BROWN NAMED BIG SOUTH FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK AGAIN
GWU freshman guard Candace Brown was tabbed The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week for the second time this season the Big South Conference announced Monday. Brown, a guard from Hinton, W. Va. who was also named the Crons Brand Freshman of the Week on January 28th, put in 16.5 points per game and averaged 46 percent from the field for the Runnin' Bulldogs last week in games from February 4-10th.
THREE IN A ROW, THREE TIMES
Gardner-Webb had its winning streak snapped at three in its 55-48 loss to Charleston Southern on Saturday, February 9th. GWU has posted three three-game winning streaks on the year.
GWU DEFENSE NATIONALLY NOTED
GWU's is nationally ranked in a number of categories, as the Runnin' Bulldogs are 14th in field goal percentage defense (33.9 percent) and 38th in blocked shots per game (4.7 bpg).
DALE OUT: WHO WILL STEP UP?
GWU's Jasmine Dale is out for Thursday night's contest with an injury. Dale leads the team with 10.8 points per game and a team-high 52 made three-point field goals on the season. Dale is currently ranked fourth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, as she is shooting 45.6 percent from downtown on the year.
