Charlotte, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Gardner-Webb senior Adam Knutsson-Sundblad as been tabbed as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Feb. 4-10, the League announced today.
The honor, the first of Knutsson-Sundblad's career, comes on the heels of an unblemished week for the Runnin' Bulldog veteran. Knutsson-Sundblad (Gothenburg, Sweden) went 2-0 at No. 1 singles this past week, defeating Davidson's Nicky Kunz 6-1, 6-4 last Tuesday and Augusta State's Victor Cabellos 6-4, 6-2 on Saturday. He added an 8-6 doubles triumph vs. the Jaguars in GWU's home opener, teaming with fellow senior Matthew Parker to help the Runnin' Bulldogs win a hard-earned doubles en route to a 6-1 win versus Augusta State.
Knutsson-Sundblad and the Runnin' Bulldogs play back-to-back matches on Thursday and Friday of this week, traveling to face Wofford on January 14 and hosting Brevard on January 15. Both matches are scheduled to open wide at 2:30 p.m.
