Brad Evans is entering his 12th season with the Gardner-Webb women’s basketball program in 2013-14, having served in a number of roles, including Assistant Coach, Director of Basketball Operations and radio play-by-play announcer.

In 2009-10, Evans surpassed former Head Coach Eddie McCurley as the longest serving staff member in Gardner-Webb Women's Basketball history. He also holds the distinction as being the only staff member to be involved with every Atlantic-Sun Conference game.

Evans helps Head Coach Rick Reeves’ staff with travel arrangements and video exchange, as well as serves as the color commentator for the Runnin’ Bulldog Women’s Basketball games on the radio and the Big South Network.

He previous served as the Director of Basketball Operations in 2004-11 and was an Assistant Coach from 2002-04.

On top of his Director of Basketball Operations from 2006-09, Evans also served as the voice of Gardner-Webb women's basketball on the radio and the Internet, providing both play-by-play and color commentary for all of the fans throughout Runnin' Bulldog Nation.

In 2008-09, and then again starting in the 2011-12 season, Evans added video commentary for the video coverage of the team on the Big South Network for all of Gardner-Webb’s Women’s Basketball home contests.

Evans came to Gardner-Webb in 2002, where he also served in the offices of Financial Planning and Facility Services, after holding a variety of positions at East Gaston High School for seven years. During Evans' tenure at East Gaston, the Warriors compiled a record of 119-65, winning Mega-7 4A Conference Regular Season and Tournament titles in 1997 and 1998. East Gaston participated in the state playoffs in six of Evans' seven years there, advancing to the sectional finals on two occasions.

While at East Gaston, Evans also served as the administrative assistant to the Athletic Director.

Evans has seen 10 former players from East Gaston and Gardner-Webb go into the coaching profession.

Evans also currently serves as the Business Manager at nearby Forestview High School.

A native of Mt. Holly, N.C., Evans lives in Shelby, N.C.
