CAROLINA
GWU will look to not only win their second conference game
of the season this weekend, but will also look to complete the regular season
series sweep of the Chanticleers.
GWU, who has won six straight over Coastal Carolina since 2008-09,
defeated the Chants 73-63 back on Jan. 9th in Boiling Springs, N.C. The Chanticleers
hold a slight two game advantage over the Runnin' Bulldogs in the conference
standings, as Coastal has three wins compared to GWU's one Big South win.
LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN??
With the Runnin' Bulldogs 73-63 win over Coastal Carolina
back on January 9th in Boiling Springs, N.C., Gardner-Webb pushed their winning
streak to six games over the Chanticleers. On Saturday afternoon, GWU will look to make it seven wins
in a row over Coastal Carolina, as the Runnin' Bulldogs have not lost to the
Chants since the 2008-09 season.

The women's game between Gardner-Webb and Coastal Carolina will
be live at 4:30 p.m. on WMBF's ThisTV. ThisTV can be seen over the air on

SLOW STARTS
The Runnin' Bulldogs have been haunted by slow starts this
season and poor play in the first half of most of their contests on the
year. GWU is 0-17 when trailing at
the half. Contrary the Runnin'
Bulldogs are 2-0 when leading at the halftime intermission. However, the Runnin' Bulldogs have
trailed by 10 points or more at the half in 15 different games this season.
LAST TIME OUT
In a 78-51 home loss to Liberty last Monday night, sophomore
guard Jasmine Dale, who played through injury for most of the second half,
scored a team-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while the freshmen trio of
Jessica Heilig, KiKi Smith and Mayhana Dunovant each had seven points apiece in
the loss. For the game, Liberty outscored Gardner-Webb 46-14 in points in the
paint, 19-8 in second chance points and 18-2 in fast break points. Gardner-Webb
did take advantage of Liberty's 18 turnovers, however, scoring 19 points off
the Lady Flames' miscues. However, Liberty shot 30-of-62 (48.4 percent) from
the field overall, while Gardner-Webb did not have the shooting touch at home
on Monday night, converting on only 15-of-53 (28.3 percent) shot attempts in
the 40 minutes of play.
GWU WILL RETURN HOME
FOR THINK PINK NIGHT ON FEBRUARY 11TH
The Runnin' Bulldogs will hit the road for their next two
contests before returning home to host Winthrop on February 11th at 5 p.m. The Runnin' Bulldogs will host their "Pink
Zone" game and encourage all fans to wear pink to the contest in support of
breast cancer research and awareness.
