Boiling Springs, N.C. - Gardner-Webb redshirt-senior Michael Slaughter and redshirt-junior Alex Medved each earned a decision in their respective weight classes on Sunday night, yet the Hoosiers of Indiana would take wins in the other eight matches to defeat the Runnin' Bulldogs 36-6 in Paul Porter Arena.

Slaughter led off the match for the Runnin' Bulldogs with an 8-3 win over Zach Zimmer, as the redshirt-senior led the bout from start to finish at 125 pounds, recording his 13th overall win on the year.

GWU quickly lost their 3-0 match lead, as Indiana posted a major decision win at 133 pounds and a pin at 141 pounds to take a 10-3 lead after the first three bouts.

At 149 pounds, GWU's Davante Andujar and Indiana's Geno Capezio battled to a 4-4 tie after three periods with each wrestler scoring points in the final 30 seconds of the final period.  In the overtime period, Capezio recorded a two-point takedown to edge Andujar for the 6-4 overtime decision and put the Hoosiers up by 10 at 13-3.

Alex Medved jumped out to an early lead at 157 pounds and took advantage of the riding time to hold on for the 7-2 decision over Sawyer Morris, giving him seven straight wins in a row.

Much like at 149 pounds, at 165 pounds GWU's Justin Guthrie used a two-point takedown with less than 45 seconds to go in the third period to knot the score up at 8-8 and force the match into overtime.  However, in overtime Indiana's Preston Keiffer scored a two-point takedown with 28 seconds left on the clock to defeat Guthrie 10-8 and put the Hoosiers back on top by 10 at 16-6.

Gardner-Webb fell in each of the last four bouts, as the Hoosiers earned a 36-6 win over the Runnin' Bulldogs.

The loss is the Runnin' Bulldogs third straight, as GWU falls to 5-11 overall in dual match action on the season.

Gardner-Webb (5-11, 1-5 SoCon) will return to the mat this Thursday night, February 16th, as the Runnin' Bulldog grapplers will travel to Davidson, N.C. to take on the Davidson College Wildcats at 7 p.m.
