CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb redshirt-senior guard Tierra Huntsman was named to the 2017-18 preseason All-Big South Conference second team Tuesday afternoon in conjunction with the league's annual media day.
 
Huntsman (Connersville, Ind. / Connersville HS) averaged career-highs on 15.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals during the 2016-17 campaign.  She also shot a career-best 40.8 percent from the floor and was 37.5 percent from behind the three-point line.
 
She earned honorable mention All-Big South Conference honors following the 2016-17 regular season, a season that saw her score 20 or more points on seven occasions, including a career-best 25 points against Presbyterian on January 7.
 
Huntsman will also be looking to join the 1,000-point club this season, as she enters play with 860 career points.  For her career, she has averaged 9.1 points each contest.
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs open the 2017-18 season on Friday, November 10 at home, hosting Pfeiffer at 7:00 pm.
