CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team was picked to finish in seventh place in the 2017-18 Big South Conference preseason poll, announced Tuesday as part of the league's 2017-18 Basketball Media Day.
The Runnin' Bulldogs collected one fifth place vote, one sixth place vote, four seventh place votes, three eighth place votes, and one ninth place vote to finish with 38 points in the tabulation, which was complied from votes by the Big South's 10 head coaches.
Radford had seven first place votes to be selected as the preseason favorite with 96 points. Liberty was voted second with a total of 81 points.

Tierra Huntsman (Connersville, Ind. / Connersville HS),
Alexus Hill (Rocky Mount, N.C. / Northern Nash HS),
Celia Tibbs (Kernersville, N.C. / Winston-Salem Prep) and
Carley Plentovich (Clearwater, Fla. / Calvary Christian HS)
Gardner-Webb opens the season on Friday, November 10, hosting Pfeiffer at 7:00 pm in Paul Porter Arena.
