BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb opens its 2017 Big South Conference slate on its home turf Friday evening, hosting Campbell at 6:00 pm in the first of a three-game series.

The Runnin' Bulldogs enter league play with a 10-12 record, coming off of a 15-13 win at Western Carolina on Wednesday night.

Collin Thacker has paced the 'Dogs offensively throughout the pre-conference schedule, batting .337 with six doubles, 20 RBI, and a slugging percentage of .482.

Gardner-Webb has shown flashes of firepower throughout the season with 22 home runs, led by Mickey Dugan, Mason Fox, and Chandler Redmond, who each have four.

The weekend rotation will consist of Zach Mosay (3-2, 3.37 ERA), Bradley Hallman (2-2, 1.46 ERA), and Isaac Campbell (0-2, 5.95 ERA).

Mosay has shined since arriving from USC Sumter this fall, tossing a complete game on March 4th in a 5-2 win over UMBC.  The right-handed junior has pitched 34.2 innings with 19 strikeouts.

Hallman has been efficient this season, earning Big South Pitcher of the Week honors twice so far.   He tossed 8.0 scoreless innings on February 19th in a 5-0 win over Canisius and tossed a complete game in a 5-1 win at ETSU on March 11th.  The right-handed junior has fanned 32 batters in 37.0 innings of work.

Campbell is starting to settle into the weekend rotation after a pair of midweek starts.   The best outing of the freshman left-hander's young career came this past Sunday against Georgetown, allowing just one earned run in 4.0 innings.  For the season, Campbell has tossed 19.2 innings with 12 strikeouts.

The Camels (9-12) are coming off of a 9-8 midweek win at N.C. State this past Tuesday evening.

Matthew Barefoot leads Campbell offensively, hitting .415 with 12 doubles, 19 RBI and slugging percentage of .707.

The rotation will consist of Allan Winans (2-2, 4.08 ERA), Alex Yarem (1-0, 4.21 ERA), and Ryan Kirk (2-2, 5.70 ERA).

All three games of the series will be broadcast live on the Big South Network, available for free and on any device, now including Roku streaming devices.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm and will wrap up the series on Sunday at 2:00 pm.
