Gardner-Webb's Connor Bos Named 2017 CCSA Men's Swimming Scholar-Athlete of the Year

LAKE POINT, Ga. – Gardner-Webb senior Connor Bos was named Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Men's Swimming Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Thursday afternoon as part of the league's postseason awards announcement.

Bos (Holland, Mich. / Holland HS) continues what has become a fine tradition with the award for the Runnin' Bulldogs – as his accomplishment marks the third consecutive season a Gardner-Webb swimmer has captured the honor.

A Finance and Economics major, Bos carries a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA and has been very active on campus and in the community during is time at Gardner-Webb – serving as vice president of the Student Government Association and volunteering with Relay for Life and the North Carolina Special Olympics, among others.

Bos has been excellent in the pool as well, earning 17 All-CCSA honors during his career with Gardner-Webb.

He swam to 14 different CCSA titles, doing so eight times individually and six times on GWU relay teams.

Bos swam to CCSA gold this past February in the 100 back (47.61) and with the men's 200 medley relay team (1:27.66).

In 2016, Bos earned a spot in the U.S. Olympic Trials, representing Gardner-Webb on the sport's biggest national stage in Omaha, Nebraska.
