Akbarizadeh Places 45th at NCAA Track and Field East Region Premlims

LEXINGTON, Ky – Gardner-Webb junior Natasha Akbarizadeh finished in 45th place in the women's hammer throw at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Region Preliminaries.

The Maple Ridge, British Columbia native had a toss of 50.45 meters.

This caps an impressive junior campaign for Akbarizadeh, who won the hammer throw at the 2017 Big South Conference Championships with a school-record mark of 60.26 meters

Petra Jakeljic was set to compete in the event as well, but did not post a result.
