Women's Basketball’s Carley Plentovich Named Big South Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb women's basketball guard Carley Plentovich (Clearwater, Fla.) has been named the Big South Conference Come Ready Nutrition Freshman of the Week for games played January 16-22, as announced by the Conference office today.

Plentovich finished this past week with averages of 15.5 points, 1.5 steals, and 3.0 rebounds in the games for the Runnin' Bulldogs. From long distance, she shot 58.3 percent (7-12) and was 50.0 percent overall from the field (12-24).

Tuesday evening against UNC Asheville, she tied her career-high with 16 points and added two steals, two rebounds, and one assist.  Saturday afternoon at High Point, she scored 15 points, and also collected four rebounds, and had one steal and one assist.

This is the second time this season a Runnin' Bulldog freshman has been named Big South Freshman of the Week, as Carley's twin sister Savannah Plentovich earned the honors for the week of November 14-20.

Gardner-Webb (8-9, 3-4 Big South) returns to action Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm at Charleston Southern.
