Women's Tennis Earns 5-2 Win Over Limestone Wednesday Afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C - The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team earned their second consecutive win of the season, defeating Limestone by a 5-2 decision on Wednesday afternoon.

Gardner-Webb (2-2) took an early advantage, sweeping through doubles play to take the early 1-0 lead.

In singles play, the Runnin' Bulldogs took two matches quickly as both Sarah Rieckmann and Catherine White earned straight set victories at the No. 2 and No. 5 positions.

Limestone got on the board at the No. 4 position, but GWU would take the next match at the No. 3 spot as Daniela Naupari would defeat Hannah Hopkins in straight sets (7-6(5), 6-1) to earn the overall match victory for the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Paula Romero would also earn a straight set victory at the No. 6 position.

Gardner-Webb is next in action this Sunday afternoon, hosting Queens at 2:00 pm.
