BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb Volleyball recently announced that spaces are filling up for all of its summer 2017 Camps, as listed on the GWU Volleyball Camp Page. Students still considering enrolling are encouraged to complete the registration process no later than Thursday, June 15 to guarantee an Under Armour camp T-shirt.
Online registration is complete for Elite Skills Camp Session I (July 7-9) which is now full (provisional space may be provided if you contact Coach Sayles directly).
Online registration remains available for all other camps – Elite Camp Session II (July 21-23), Middle School Skill Camp (July 21-22), as well as High School Team Camp (July 10-13) All of the camps will be hosted in Paul Porter Arena and Bost Gymnasium on the campus of Gardner-Webb University. Residential options are still available for both the Elite Camp and the High School Team Camp.
"Our camps will include Elite Camp, Middle School Skill Camp, and High School Team Camp," said Head Coach Leo Sayles. "All our volleyball camps are directed and coached by our staff at GWU and other successful collegiate coaches in our area."
For players looking to improve their game and prepare for the next level, the coaching staff offers a second Elite Camp for those graduating in the classes of 2017-2021. This camp, scheduled for July 21-23, offers advanced, college level training as well as fundamental training that will focus on individual skills.
The High School Teams Camp, scheduled for July 9-11, still has openings for one or two teams. Each team must consist of at least eight (8) players and one coach at all times. During camp, teams will receive team practices focusing on team development, offensive and defensive systems, competition, and coaches' clinics. Coaches must call Coach Sayles as soon as possible if interested in joining the camp (704) 390-3624.
The Middle School Skills Camp for those entering grades 6-8 scheduled for July 21 and 22, is comprised of three separate sessions that will cover all fundamental skills. The camp will run concurrently with the Elite Skills camp. Players will have the opportunity to observe the GWU team skill demonstration Saturday.
