SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Per release from the league office, 17 members of the Gardner-Webb University wrestling team have been named as members of the 2024-25 Southern Conference Honor Roll Team with four also receiving All-Academic and two receiving the Commissioner Medal

Representing the Runnin' Bulldogs among the 2,734 student athletes across the Southern Conference on the Honor Roll team include Todd Carter, Ty Edwards, Rocky Files, Gunther Gerstenacker, Jeffrey Jacome, James Johnson, Hunter Jomes, Tyler Lamon, Brendan Martin, Nathan Pepin, Ty Porter, Jackson Potts, Matthew Roland, Max Salerno, Charlie Sly, Isaac Stocker and George Wilson.

The SoCon Academic Honor Roll was established to recognize the conference's academic success and consists of student-athletes who participated in conference-sponsored varsity sports and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher for the academic year. The award differs from the Academic All-Conference award, which is determined by cumulative grade point average and involves a participation requirement.

Further receiving All-Academic recognition are Carter, Jacome, Pepin and Wilson. Carter, who finished with a 3.97 GPA while completing his degree in Business Administration and Edwards, who finished with a 3.84 GPA while majoring in Biology, further receive the Commissioner Medal from the Southern Conference, finishing as two of 846 student-athletes league-wide who attained a grade point average of 3.80 or higher throughout the year.
